    2.5 Amps NEMA 17 are too much for DRV8825 drivers. Check the specs here www.pololu.com/product/2133/specs
    It recommends 1.5 Amps continuous and 2.2 max.

    You could try in the cutting strategy option 5 Cutting Direction "trailing Edge at the Home Side"
    That way it will exit at the trailing edge and hopefully not leave a mark.

    I have mine set that way.
